February 2008: municipal workers painted all the gardens on the first block of the Alameda Santa Lucia with rust-proof paint, under the supervision of Stan Stout. We bought them the paint and they paint. They town gave us new plants and Felix & Benigno, our gardeners, planted them ... An excellent example of private-public project co-operation!

The 2008 "Rescuing" project has been launched

Sin embargo, no sería posible sin la ayuda de los Miembros del Proyecto de Alameda Santa Lucia. ¡Muchas gracias a todos quiénes estan ayudando! |

February 2007 - Another tree
has fallen in the Alameda. Since we started the project, we've planted more
than 50 new trees in place of those that dies because of the fumes of the
heavy traffic. Here, Benigno, the project's gardener, is talking with a
reporter, while the Muni workers are cutting up the tree. Now we have a new
job ... a new jardiniera and another new tree to plant ...

We had
bought, in 2000, a run-down house on the Alameda, but we still lived in New
York City. Using her computer, she "repaired" the house, "painted" it
and she "planted" flowers to make the street more beautiful.
