2003: Our 22nd Year !!! Welcome
to Kerns Nursery
In 1981 we started our
landscape business on the Mountaintop. We install hardy, excellent quality plant
material to landscape your home or business. We install perennial gardens,
trees, shrubs, patios
and walkways, foundation plantings and about anything
else associated with landscaping.In 1985 the decision to
start a nursery became an obvious one as we needed more control over the kind of plant
material we had available to our customers. We started small and have expanded over
the last 15 years to a nursery of some size. We now carry a wide range of the usual
and unusual plant materials and we have tried to maintain consistent good quality in
our plants and a neat and organized appearance in our nursery. Our new
labeling system & information sheets give immediate assistance to our
customers.

Specializing in perennial plants (those that come back every
year), we offer over 500 varieties. We specialize in rock garden
plants.
You can receive advice and have your questions answered as we try to make
ourselves available to our customers as much as possible. We also carry a full line
of herb plants.
Hardy shrub, tea, climbing & florabunda roses are also for sale.
Our newly expanded annual and vegetable area is full of
hundreds of varieties of plants. We include some very unusual and specialty plants
along with the more common. |

Our recent expansion has been concentrated in
current annual summer gardening trends. COME SEE THE VARIETY OF OUR CREATIVE
SPECIALTY PLANTS to make your garden more interesting.
An effort has been made to also expand our assortment of hardy shrubs and trees. We carefully choose them personally, from a
variety of growers insuring that they
are of high quality and hardy for our area. |

Besides plants, our
Country Garden Shop is full of gardening
supplies such as fertilizers, hand tools, grass and vegetable seeds, clay pottery, the
most unusual baskets and planters, etc, etc.
We carefully hunt for quality gift & home decorating items that
reflect our Mt.Top environment. Bear & deer and other animals
appear in many decorative forms. Iron & tinware, candles, lamps,
garden ornaments & furniture are just some of the items.
Floral arrangements, special occasion fresh and potted arrangements can be
ordered, for weddings, meetings, parties, etc.Our
rose selection has been carefully thought out to bring you the choices that are successful
in our Mt.Top environment.

Remember spring is the best time to appreciate our Rock
Gardens. We are
currently trying to schedule a slide presentation on rock
gardening and rock garden plants.

our web page. E-mail us if you think you might be interested in attending.
*Please
understand that our benches are not fully supplied with the more
tender plants till the week before Memorial Day as Mountain Frosts
hit our area quite late in the season.

JUNE
30-JULY 4th - SUMMER SALE
- all our
annuals, herbs, hanging and planted baskets go on sale for the
rest of the season. Also
clay pottery will be reduced.
Our gardens are in full bloom and we welcome you to come
tour them with your weekend guests.
Sit
in the shade of the pine trees and Pat will introduce to you some
potted specimens from our line of great new plants.
Discussion will be about how to use these plants to make
interesting gardens. A
brief tour will take place afterwards to view some of these plants
in our gardens.
Please call if you will be attending to reserve a space.

all of our daylilies will be reduced 20%

How to get
here:
From the Prattsville and the West:
Rte 23 East. After Prattsville, straight on Rte 23A, past Lexington, to
Xenia Motel. Turn left on Rte 17 ... almost 2 miles until you see our sign
on the right side of the road. Take a left turn for 2/10ths mile up the
hill.
From New York City, Long Island, New
Jersey: NY State Thruway to Exit 20. Take Rte 32 North to
Palenville. Left on Rte 23A West, through Tannersville and Hunter,
to Xenia Motel, turn right on Rte 17 ... almost 2 miles until you see our
sign on the right side of the road. Take a left turn for 2/10ths mile up
the hill.
From Albany and the North: NY State
thruway to Exit 21. Follow Rte 23 West, through Windham, turn next left to
Jewett on Rte 17, for 2 miles, past the church and Post Office until you
see our sign on the left side of the road. Take a right turn for 2/10ths
mile up the hill.
