Christmas 2010 in London, Cologne, Paris and Miami

From Guatemala to New York, where we hoped to get a morning flight to London.  Due to snowstorms, we arrived in London 12 hours late, but still to have dinner with friends in Brick Lane and shop in "Bangla City", and to sing Christmas carols at the Albert Hall, as well as see the Canaleto and Gaughin shows at the National Gallery and the Tate Modern.  Then a wonderful Christmas with grandma Sasha in Cologne (arrived at Dusseldorf airport just before it closed due to a snow storm), and a day-trip to Paris to see the stunning Monet exhibit of 200 paintings collected from around the planet.  At the end of the trip, a visit with friends near Miami and a flying boat tour in the Everglades.  Now, back in Antigua:  "East - West, Home is Best"!

In Paris, it was very cold

At Tate Modern, we saw an interesting show of Paul Gaughin's paintings collected from the whole world's galleries, and had lunch, looking over London.  Next time you go to London, book lunch online at Tate Modern and chances are you, too, can get a table overlooking the river and London's new and old architecture.  Here, Jenny & David, with the "gherkin" tower behind them, below, Jenny with Christopher Wren's St. Paul's Cathedral.  This and the OXO Tower restaurant have the best views.
